Why is VA Tech Shooting victims more important than Iraqi civillian victimes who were killed by u.s solderis?

Why does people make such a big deal out of VA tech
shooting case? I am not trying to disrespect victims,
Neverthless, there are number of people get killed in Iraq that people don’t even care. The medias offer very short news out of those people while VA tech incident was covered with huge amount of details? Is media trying to entertain people or what?

What is a good Computer news website?

I am trying to stay a little better up to date with computer technology. Always tired of my friends talking about some recent new technology and not knowing what they are talking about. So I am looking for some websites or forums that other people use to keep up with computer tech. For now mainly looking for stuff on computer hardware although stuff on programming as well would be fine as well.

where/who is the best provider of online news?

I am always in search of UNBIASED (and admittedly anti-corporation& wall street) news. I really like tech news as well. I know some classic providers like yahoo,new york times, ect. ect.
But I also look at lifehacker,reddit,wired and sites like that where I can get some tech news.
It seems hard to find new sources of new information, there are obviously many sites with old info (wiki,yelp. DIY, ect… they are fun to browse but I want to keep up with current events, everything from the elections results to the the new laws being passed to file sharing regulation to “what is the next big thing”. Just an all in one huge source of incoming information that I don’t necessarily need to know a keyword to find. So if there is anything that can shovel such a variety of news onto my computer I need to find it.
My question to you all is: Where/Who post the best, most quickly updated, and accurate news on the internet?

Why does the Yahoo Tech site take so long to load?

Is it the amount of Flash? Is it because the physical size of the page is huge?

There is a ton of content on those pages, and Google’s news pages load so much more quickly (with just as many text advertisements). Heck when the Yahoo Tech/News pages link to other sources/pages for news, I just search for that page directly, and then go there, skipping Yahoo all together.

Please advise… (or change the site)
And my computer is a MB Pro 2.2 GHz with 2 GB of memory.

(I hate it when online nobodies brag about their electronics – because someone always has something better, but I wanted to make sure people weren’t replying with silly, “your computer is too slow” answers.)

How did 56 people get shot and not one police officer there during the largest part..at VA Tech?

I have only seen parts of the news today. I am heading to read more. But how in the world did this go on with no police there? There was a man with a cell phone taping it but I seen no police taking action.
I am not saying they were not there. I just have not seen anything that they were during the 20 that were being shot. I saw they were at the end.
They did show a very heavy police man running with a gun later. Your info would be great thanks.
Does anyone know when they showed up?
